May 1st, 2010 witnessed the first issue of a re-vamped Chams Newspaper, a project largely undertaken by AlMohtaraf. The new Chams targets Saudi youth with their everyday concerns and interests, and it includes sections on Tourism, Family, Society, Religion, Cars and Culture.


AlMohtaraf was a core member of the build-up of the newspaper identity, editorial trip, and design. The scope of work included the masthead design; the Chams master maquette; and Chams font family, which included three text weights and a titling version.


A team of three AlMohtaraf members (two designers and a senior editor) joined Chams staff members over a one-month training period, during which they familiarized the newspaper staff with the editorial trip and technical usage of the new master maquette and grid structure.
